Max Wong started playing tennis with his dad in the summers when he was 14. He didn’t understand how to hit through the ball, but sure enjoyed running around a lot. Max started playing quite a bit while on his University tennis team which kicked off a lifelong journey of hitting a little fuzzy yellow ball over a net and yelling things when expectations didn’t meet reality.
Funny and humble, Max is the two time defending Nelson Tennis Club champion, West Kootenay Open champion and actively participates in tournaments around BC. He has coached at both the Calgary Tennis Club and the Osten & Victor Alberta Tennis Centre. Since moving to Nelson, Max has continued being a local tennis addict, and is always happy to see people coming/returning to the sport that has given him so much.

Ivy Robin moved to Nelson after completing her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Whilst in Nelson, she’ll be enrolled in UBC’s WKTEP as well as exploring the beautiful outdoors with her parents and fun-loving dog.

Ivy started playing tennis when she was 4 and has many years experience in both competitive singles and doubles. She began coaching tennis in 2014, mainly working with children between the ages of 3 to 18, helping them improve their skills and understanding of the game. She’s excited to be a part of the Nelson Tennis Club community and looks forward to seeing you out on the courts.
