West Martin-Patterson is the Community Champion representative for the Building Tennis Communities Program in the West Kootenay area as recognized by Tennis Canada.
To go along with his playing experience (ranked Men's Open player) West is a Club Professional 2 (level 3) Certified Coach with over 17 years coaching experience training beginners to high performance. During his time coaching West has been Head Professional at Sunshine Hills Tennis Club and has worked extensively as a coordinator for Tennis BC. West has also been assistant tennis professional at the following clubs: Great West Fitness and Racquets Club, Town and Country Tennis Club and New Westminster Tennis Club.
West has experience coaching all levels of players including several provincially #1 ranked junior players in high performance programs, working at the grassroot level with beginnesr and club level players. West has a passion and energy for the game of tennis that is contagious to all that attend his programs
Currently West is the Club Pro for Nelson Tennis Club. West uses the coaching method “Actions” which stresses situational training combining technical and tactical skills of the game. Through his expertise and passion for the game West would like to help you take your game to the next level!
